Greetings to all of the ASA'ers and especially the Duffy's. I would like to clarify that reports of my death are I believe greatly exaggerated as I woke up this morning with a hard-on and an overwhelming desire to a "Mekong and Coke". Of course there is the possibility that I am dead and the formaldehyde in the Mekong hasn't reached the brain yet. Additionally the reports that Vari and I are divorced are also incorrect. 31 years last year and for some reason she still hasn't discovered that I thought she was just a housegirl that stowed away. This looks like an interesting ASA site - think I'll stay awhile.

Hello, I was at Monterey in 1963 in Jack Klawitter's class, then on to the 9th ASA Field Station at Clark Field in the PHilippines for the year of 1964, then to the 3rd RRU in Saigon, and finished up with the 3rd RRU, 1st Dethmnt with the 173d Airborne Brigade at Bien Hoa. Since 1995, I have been loosely associated with the Society of the 173d Airborne Brgd, but have had more than my tolerance of the macho-musclehead-mentality. I learned of the ASA group perhaps two years ago just after the Getteysburg reunion. Nevertheless, I plan to be at the Norfolk reunion in June and would light to see some prior faces. Does anyone have information as to whether individual units have or have had reunions, or was ASA too small for unit reunions. I often see prior ASA's at the Wall on Memoprial and Veterans Day identified by the ASA shoulder patch on a fatique or field jacket, but have never yet met up with someone that I actually served with. Hope to see you in Norfolk, VA.

Great site, and many photos that are beginning to stir long dormant memories. I was a Viet lingie at Phu Bai in '65, Tan-son-Nhat in '66 and back at the 9th RRU in 1st half of '67. Later focused on Vn history and & geography, and have been doing environmental impact assessment for Corps and Coast Guard since 1975. Much to my surprise I saw my name in one of Jerry Frankenburger's photos of Davis Station. I will be looking for him. I remember virtually no one.

I served as a pilot for the 3rd RRU from Jan-Oct of 1966.
My initial assignment was Saigon, then the Airfield hooch at Danang and finally we opened a base on the airfield in Nha Trang.
Does the association have any history or photos of these units?

Great site, guys! I was a 98C-20. Arrived in-country 12/72 and was assigned to the 405th RRDet with the First Cavalry at Bien Hoa. The Cav went home in June and I found myself at the 175th RRFS until it was abandoned in September, then on to White Birch. Best and worst days of my life. Best people ever.

Trying to locate anyone who remembers my younger brother, Edward P. Cammack, who served in the ASA relay Center, in the Saigon area, believe it was near the air base there.
Ed is now deceased, and am trying to obtain information that I can pass on to his children.
thank you,

I was stationed in Thailand at the &th in Nan Soong(Udorn) then assigned to Detachment "C' in Ubon in 1975/1976.
Infact, I turned off the last piece of secure COMSEC when we turned the base over to the Thai Army in 1976.
Just looking for some fellow 7th and Det "C" comrades.
